Kevin's brother, Craig, allocates the intensity of his free time between his grand piano and the Kevin Reed Band. Introduced to the piano at the age of four, he is classically trained under the tutelage of Vilma Vargo at the Baldwin-Wallace Conservatory of Music. Seventeen years of studying piano and theory is evident in his performance - don't be surprised if you hear snippets of the old masters during spontaneous, kinetic keyboard improvisations with the band.
The piano score that Craig composed for the Odyssey CD allows listeners a glimpse into the bandaged soul of one whose brother battled death's beckoning. Craig also wrote "Mind Travel" and "Graduation Song" featured on the CD, which is sold in the Store . The Reed brothers have been playing in local rock bands since elementary school. By 1994 they ended an exciting stint with Dixie Wrecked, which featured the dynamic vocalist, Stefana, who is now performing in California. Craig
is an extremely versatile and gifted musician, providing backup vocals and
playing clarinet, saxophone, or guitar if the need arises. However,
his passion is piano. He teaches piano and theory at Brecksville Music,
composes for keyboard and occasionally jams with other area
musicians and vocalists.
